When this condition is met, there is no net transfer. Two physical systems are in thermal equilibrium if there is no net flow of thermal energy between them when they are connected by a path permeable to heat. Thermal equilibrium is a condition when two systems have the same temperature and there no more net flow of thermal energy.

Thermal equilibrium is achieved when two objects in contact have the same temperature and there is no net heat transfer.
